Template notice Values shown in brackets on this page are placeholders. Replace them under Settings → WPGPL.store → Business details before the store takes live payments.

Delivery

  1. The order completes and payment is confirmed.
  2. WooCommerce records a download permission against your account for each eligible product in the order.
  3. The product appears under My Account → Downloads with a download button.
  4. Clicking the button sends a request to a WooCommerce-controlled address.
  5. That address checks the download permission, the order status, the remaining download count and your session.
  6. If everything passes, the file is served. The attempt is recorded against your download count.

Why the checks exist

These checks are why a download link from someone else does not work for you. A permission is tied to an account and an order, not to a URL that could be pasted anywhere. That is also why the file is never published at a fixed address on this site.

Download limits and expiry

  • A product may cap how many times a file can be downloaded. The remaining count is shown next to each download in your account.
  • A product may expire. The expiry date is shown in your account when one is set.
  • Where you have run out or the date has passed, the download shows as unavailable rather than failing silently.
  • If a legitimate need is blocked by a limit, contact support before the order ages out. It is easier to fix before files are deleted than after.

Installation

  • The exact install steps depend on the product. Where a product page documents them, follow those; they come from the product's own documentation.
  • Back up your site, including the database, before installing or updating anything.
  • Requirements — are the product's. Check the Product information table on the product page before installing — minimum PHP and WordPress versions are common causes of a failed install.
  • Where a product page shows no Requirements row, they have not been recorded. Confirm compatibility with the developer before installing on a live site.

Updates

When a newer file is uploaded to a product you own, the version on the record is revised and the updated file becomes the one offered in your account. Updates do not require a separate purchase and there is no update fee for a product you already own.

You keep the responsibility of applying updates. Nothing on a site is updated automatically unless the product says it does that itself.

Refunds and defective files

Because a file cannot be returned, refunds are considered individually. The grounds, the process and the timescales are in the refund policy. A corrupt archive, a file that will not extract, or an install that stops partway through are all reportable.

Your licence to the file

A purchase gives you the licence the product came with, on the number of projects that licence covers. It does not transfer ownership. Where the licence is GPL or compatible, the GPL rights described on the GPL & licensing page apply to you directly.

Product use is also governed by the acceptable use policy.
